CLickbait like this gets people because everyone wants to see if whatever the site says really matches their personality. People want to know that what they think about themselves is true, and not only that, but that they chose the right dog to own and that another dog doesn't describe them better. In addition, anything with puppies really tends to capture people's attention.

Personality tests are important to people because it allows for self validation, and as much as we would all deny it; self validation is extremely improtant to how we live our day to day lives. It may seem trivial, but if a personality test were to tel us that we had a "calm, level-headed, and strong willed" personlaity type, we would believe it. Click bait like this appeals to people emotions and curiosity and it definitely gets me everytime.
