Dear Members of the Campus Community,

The faculty and administration have come to an agreement that it would be in our best interest to enact a system- wide snow day. There is a predicted 30 inches of snow to come down within the next few days, and the ice and snow will be bound to have detrimental effects to travel for faculty and staff.

We understand what this change will do to the academic schedule, but we also want to take into consideration all of our staff that have to drive and travel through the snow and hazardous conditions. Plus, we know that the students are dying to make snowmen and write silly phrases on the quad.

The University of Illinois System will commence a snow day from the dates of February 9th to February 11th. Classes will then resume as scheduled on the 12th of February.

We are sorry for any inconvenience, and we wish you a warm and safe weekend.
