Final Project

Wow, the end of the semester is quickly approaching. It's amazing how fast these past few weeks flew by! At this point in the semester I've learned a lot in all of my classes. I learned more about bilingualism, Latin American Politics, Foreign American Policy, the atmosphere, and I have also learned a lot about html and media writing. This semester has definitely been an interesting one because of all the new things I learned and at times struggling to learn/grasp these new concepts.

I have really enjoyed rhet 233 because I learned to write in a different style that I hadn't really been exposed to before. It was nice to learn to write differently instead of writing the traditional way, which sometimes tends to get a bit monotonous. These past few weeks I have been working on my final project which has been an interesting process. It has been an interesting process because I feel like it's been actually a bit more difficult to create than I expected. The final project is like a final paper, but at the same time it really isn't like a paper because you need to incorporate images and videos to make it more like a webpage and interactive. This part of the project has been a bit difficult for me to be honest, but hopefully my results end up being good.

I will now return to working on all of the other papers, projects, and presentations that I have to complete before the semester ends. Wish me luck!

Just a Quick Update!

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I last updated my blog honestly! These past few weeks have been filled with a lot of exams, essays, and projects. Not too long ago UIUC had its Spring Break and I was lucky enough to go to D.C. for a class for the week. During that week my classmates and I got to explore the city and be tourists for a bit.

I got to visit many museums and national monuments while I was there! My favorite museum was the Portrait Gallery and the American History Museum! At the Portrait Gallery I was able to see Michele and Barack Obama's portraits which looked very different to the other presidential portraits. The American History Museum was my favorite because I really enjoyed the exhibits about the presidents and first ladies. I liked learning more about what happened while they were in office. I probably spent my entire visit in those two exhibits!

While I was in D.C. my class and I also got the opportunity to meet different organizations and learn more about their jobs in D.C.. It was definitely a very busy Spring Break, but I wouldn't change it at all! Now, for these next few weeks I have to efficiently finish all of my projects and essays and study for my exams, so I can pass all of my classes. Thank you for reading!

Busy Weeks

These past few weeks have been filled with a lot of school work and studying. I feel like I am constantly feeling like I don't have enough time to finish all of my work because of all the things I have going on. This past week I was able to update my homepage though! I finally changed the layout to my homepage and it looks a bit better, as you probably have already noticed. I still need to update the pages to my projects because they still look like what they did when I first created them. I want to make them look more modern, but who knows how I end up redesigning them. I hope that once I am able to update them they will look nice.

This past week was also really warm and sunny outside for a few days! I got to use my friend's penny board a bit because the weather was so nice. I also walked around everywhere instead of taking the bus to my classes or where I needed to get. I hope that the weather continues to get warmer because I am quite about ready for winter to come to an end and have more spring weather. I also think that the nice weather allowed me to relax and destress a little because all of the school work was just starting to stress me out.

Just a Little Update...

This week's forgery project was honestly slightly more challenging for me. First of all, I did not exactly know what kind of project I could forge and once I chose a project I did not exactly know how to make it look believable. Once I finished my forgery project, which was a ransom note from the Jonbenet Ramsey murder case, I did not know how to upload my project on my homepage and make it look believable. I didn't know how to upload pdf files, and I honestly struggled uploading my project online, but after multiple times of trying I was finally able to upload my project and make it look real. While working on this project I wished I knew how to work html and technology a little bit better, so I could have created something more intricate, but for a beginner I think I created a decent project.

I look forward in making more projects this semester and improving my html skills, so my homepage at the end of the semester looks great! For right now I will continue to try figuring out how to add tables to my blog to make it look better. I will also try to figure out if I can change the font to my words in my page in general.

P.S. this rainy and cold weather is making me wish it were warm and sunny outside. I also wish I were in the city right now, so enjoy the picture I took a while ago.

Learning to Navigate the Coding World

I personally have never been extremely savvy with technology, so creating my own homepage and blog has been interesting and confusing all at the same time. I find creating my own homepage and blog posts interesting because in high school I tried starting my own blog page. I began to create my blog page through one of those websites that already has the templates set up for you, so it was easy to create it. Even though I set up my blog page I never actually posted anything. My original idea/plan was to post pictures of nature and write about them, but I never got around to actually doing that.

Now that I am creating my own homepage without a website doing it for me has been challenging and confusing because I am not too sure what I am doing with the coding. Even though I find it confusing and challenging, I am still enjoying it because I am learning to do something I am not familiar with, which will allow me to broaden my horizons and introduce me to how a homepage is created, which could be useful at some point in my future. When I started creating my homepage in class I found it easy to log onto the server, but once I started coding I got a bit confused because I no longer had an idea as to what I was doing. I found it useful when the professor showed us different ways to code in class because it gave me a better idea as to what I had to do. Therefore, as of right now, I am still navigating my way on creating a better homepage for myself, and I hope that I will be able to properly create an interesting homepage that will showcase my work for my class RHET 233 this semester.
