Welcome to my 5th and final blog post! In this blog post, I am going to be talking about my final project. My topic for the final project is La Casa Cultural Latina here at UIUC. I chose this topic because I am Latina and I wanted to learn more about the cultural home on campus that connects to my roots. I actually really enjoyed this project as I got to learn about the beautiful murals that were painted on the walls of the La Casa home. They are so alluring and are comprised of history and struggle. I was really sad to learn that the murals were actually ripped from the La Casa home and shipped over to an art gallery in Chicago. I believe that this was not the right thing to do since it was a piece of the home and represents a lot of history for Latin students here at UIUC. Overall, I really enjoyed this project and look forward to learning more as this project wraps up! Cya neverrr.
