Last week in class was by far the most fun thing we have done in this class thus far. I really thought the review project was not only useful but really funny. As much as writing reviews may seem simple and pretty basic, it became clear in class last week that their really is a lot that goes into a good review. I also realize how many 'fake' reviews exist on the internet. I liked looking at fake review spotting websites. Those are websites that i will use in my actual purchasing process when ordering things online. I like how they sift out unimportant reviews. Here are a few of the useful sites;
-Fakespot.com
-reviewskeptic.com
-reviewmeta.com

This blog i am going to talk about the forgery project which has been my favorite project so far. The goal was to create a convincing forgery that is applied to a text or genere. I chose to forge a police report about waseem because well, talk about something believeable! Just kidding. Well anyway, i forged a police report and then found a picture of waseem to couple with the report. I also forged a tweet from waseem(on the run) to make it more believeable that he didnt want to be caught. Overall, i thought this project helped me get used to spotting fake materials online, and also realizing just how easy it was for people to forge just about anything online.

The last few weeks in class have been interesting to say the least(other than the week I missed). Regardless, I really enjoyed doing the forgery project and mocking up a fake police report for Waseem. My favorite thing about the projects in this class is the variety of topics we cover. Unlike other English and rhetoric classes Ive taken where the content is dealt with narrowly and kind of at the professor dispense, this class really attempts to teach things that are useful in TODAYS world as well as rhetorically related. Ive really liked updating my webpage and looking at other peoples as well. Its interesting to see everyones unique style applied to their projects, it makes for a real range of ideas and concepts to think about rather than everyones stuff looking the same. The individuality and self-learned aspects in this class definitely make it a very unique experience that Ive enjoyed a lot thus far! Cant wait to see what else Ill learn in this class.

My name is John Raimondo and welcome to my blog! This is my third (junior) year at UIUC, I am a political science major. I am from Schaumburg Illinois, I love to read and write, and spend a lot of time at my apartment on campus relaxing or hanging with my friends. As a person who likes to write for hobby, I thought Rhet233 would be a class catered towards things I enjoy doing. The thing I am most excited about in this class though is the unique way technology is incorporated into this course as a means to convey and organize our work. Spencer talked about earlier in class that some people dont consider online writings (twitter, Facebook, etc.) as necessarily real writing such as an essay, but ultimately I agree with him that it is important to be fluent online as well because there really is no getting away from today’s way of doing things. Because of that, I think this class will be useful in helping me understand what it actually means to put something I wrote online. Im also very excited to have a cooler website than Waseem! Cheers
