Prairie Alliance Constitution

"Prairie Alliance exists to promote the development and implementation of safe, economical, and environmentally beneficial sources of energy. Since we view nuclear power plants as meeting none of these criteria, our central goal is to oppose the continued development of nuclear power in general and, specifically, the building of the Clinton nuclear power plants which endangers - biologically, economically, and socially - all residents of central Illinois. According to our corporate chapter, the purposes for which the corproation is organized are these: to educate the public and disseminate information of an exclusively enducational and scientific nature about the uses and development of energy and energy resources; to promote research on energy-related issues and make such research available to the public; to organize public forums for discussion of such issues; to disseminate the results of non-partisan analysis of energy issues; to present speakers, films and other programs concerned with energy and its uses; to support, sponsor, and implement such other exclusively educational and scientific activities as are consistent and sesirable with the forgoing purposes." - Prairie Alliance Constitution Draft, June 1979
