Arranging the separate pieces

If you are having trouble aggregating (bringing together) your researched information, try this trick:

Write down on Post-It Notes™:
- The major claims of your arguments, and
- The warrants and/or grounds which support those major claims
Now, arrange and re-arrange those Post-It Notes™ on a flat surface

and stop arranging when the order of the notes seems to make sense (to you)

Then ask yourself,

"Will this particular order make sense to the target audience (of this particular instance of writing)?"

Repeat steps 3 and 4—as needed—until you are ready to write your preliminary arrangement draft.
