Final blog post of the semester! We are almost to the end of the semester (crazy!), and everyone is working hard (or hardly working) on their final websites about ~student activism on campus~. I am doing my final project on anti-war activism during the Vietnam War. It has been a little tricky trying to find good information on specific groups that were on campus at that time. I have found a little bit, but not much. I need to focus more on my argument and figure out what I am going to write. Other than that, I have a few more ideas in my mind for my website. The podcast I feel went pretty well, and my group was able to converse back and forth without many awkward silences. Anyways, I'm glad this semester is over (no offense Spencer), and I am looking forward to summer. This is my last blog post on this site ever, so peace and blessings. ☮

Blog post numero quatro! I am aware that Spencer told us to write about something in specific today, but I honestly cannot remember what it was, so I am just going to wing it today. So far this class has definitely been in my top three favorite classes of the school year because I have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to code. I also really love telling people that I haven't had to write a single paper in my RHET class and seeing their reactions. Though my writing skills have not necessarily escalated, I have definitely learned so much about technology and the media through this class. I think having this knowledge of how the media and the internet strategically words and posts things is important in this time period of rapidly increasing technological dependence. The things I have learned in this class are absolutely more useful than the things I would have learned from reading a fictional book and writing a paper about it. So, although this isn't technically your typical Advanced Comp course, it does the job, and teaches us valuable tech skills such as how to use caution when surfing the internet so you don't get your credit card information stolen from you resuting you to go bankrupt.

Third blog post! This semester has flown by, but I am one hundred percent ready for spring break. This whole TA strike has also been putting a damper on the moods of many people around me. Some of my friends haven’t had class in over a week, but are still expected to learn the material and take the quizzes and tests. I personally do not think it’s fair to us at all, and the university should do more to help us undergrads through this sticky situation. Luckily for me, none of my classes have been affected by it, with the exception of this class being moved to the Armory. Anyways, speaking of this class, I really enjoyed completely redoing my homepage! It looks completely different now, and it was fun to figure out how to code it to make it look like the way it looks now. My phishing scam project was also pretty enjoyable, and I showed it to my friend and she genuinely thought that it was a real email. She also said that she would have probably fallen for it. I’m looking forward to the final project in the class and learning about all the different kinds of student activism that has been on campus throughout the last one hundred and fifty years.

The past month has flown by and I have learned a lot about coding a website. My minicomic project took a while to figure out how to post all the pictures and center them nicely, but it eventually worked out! Posting my forgery project online was a breeze. I enjoyed creating a forgery about the Beatles conspiracy theory because I am I big Beatles fan. It was also fun looking through my classmates’ homepages and seeing their creative forgery projects. I am looking forward to creating some clickbait, though it seems like it might be a bit confusing since have to create several links within the clickbait. Below is a screenshot of a funny clickbait headline I found while scrolling through my Facebook, enjoy!

This is my first blog post on this homepage! I am excited to learn more about creating my own website while also building up my writing skills. I have never done this type of website-making in which I code the entire website on my own. So far, it has been a very educational process that I have enjoyed very much. Throughout the semester, I plan on continuously adding to my homepage to make it a more entertaining and enticing place. I feel that this course will teach valuable skills in terms of navigating and posting onto social media and other online platforms. This will benefit me and everyone else in the future when advertising, creating our own company's website, or possibly running online businesses. The writing skills that I will develop will be advantageous while searching for jobs or simply communicating with professionals. I look forward to working hard throughout this semester to perfect my homepage and my writing.
