Matthew Mark's Blog
Hi everyone! It feels like it has been so long since I made my last blog post and, unfortunately, this will be my last blog post for this class and I will have to say goodbye to all the readers out there. This last post is about my experiences with working to create my podcast and my final project. Both of these projects have been way more enjoyable than I thought they would be! If you are ever given the chance to pick any topic that interests you, then I suggest doing whatever you are most interested in even if it is no the easiest path to take. Creating the podcast was fun because it was my first time making one and although it wasn't perfect, I did certainly feel as though I should try and make more in the future somehow. I highly suggest making a podcast with a firend or anything about something you're interested in and run with it because it might surprise how much you enjoy sitting down and conversing about the things you find most interesting. Also, I enjoyed doing research for both of these projects, which I forgot to mention. Boring old research on some assigned topic can be difficult to get through, but when you really want to know more about the topic for the sake of curiosity then do it! Creating my final project has been really fun, except I feel as though I've been too much of a perfectionist which has made me slightly ineficient with the project. Anyway, I don't want to make this too long so I'll wrap it up. Creating this final project and podcast has been great. For any future researchers in Rhet 233, do not worry this project is not as boring as it sounded in the syllabus. Thanks everyone for the support over the past three months or so and who knows, maybe you'll find me doing podcasts in the future! So long!
Hello everyone out there! It's hard to be believe how fast time has flown since my first blog post way back in February and how much we've accomplished in that time! Thanks to all the supporters and haters! Now, recently I finshed up my first internet review of anything on any platform. I learned that rating something online (Amazon and yelp in this instance) gives one a great feeling of power and control without really doing that much. This project made me seriously consider a side-job as a reviewer all across the internet and get a bunch of free stuff (most likely). Now that I have a good gauge of what goes into a review to a degree, I now feel more confident in taking the time to actually write reviews regulary or about some of the things that I buy. There is some thought required, but I believe it's pretty easy to simply publicize one's experience with the place or product. All in all, I thought this was a pretty light and comedic project, but a rewarding one too. Surprisingly, I now implore all you readers to try and give reviewing a try and see how you like it as you may be shocked at its potential to addict you. That's all I've got to say this time around and I can't wait to reconnect in the very near future!
Hello followers! I'm finally back! Recently I created a clickbait and phishing scam. Again, both of these projects were based in deceit ("Oh no, how terrible!"). Who knows, maybe you'll find yourself one day falling into some of my traps out there while parousing the web or reading through your emails. Creating the clickbait scam took a lot of work and required a lot of HTML and CSS behind the scenes work. In the end the work made this project the most rewarding project yet. The next project was creating a phishing email. This was probably my least favorite of my recent works, however, still entertaining as I got to play around in creating and editing my email through the most fun program on my computer, paint! This past week or so, I also worked on improving my webpage, even though it was already amazing. In addition to some other tweaks and changes I now have a navigation bar! Now all my readers can easily access my blogging, which was certainly worth the effort. I have a feeling these projects may have been the most enjoyable of the entire class, but looking forward, I'm excited to create my own podcast for the first time! Cheers to technology, until next time readers!
Creating the forgery project was perhaps one of the most fun assigments I have ever completed in a writing class. Deviant writing as a whole, including the forgery project, was extremely entertaining (not that I would do it as a career) and was something I haven't done since the fourth grade when I crinkled up a piece of paper imitating one of the presidents. I'm excited to continue the deviant writing section of the course with the clickbait project this week and the future phishing scam. These deviant writing projects provide an opportunity to do something new for a change, unlike most writing courses where essays and papers feel repetitive and overdone. The other aspect of this work that makes it enjoyable is working with something that seems wrong, even slightly, to do. So far, I'm excited for what the remaining part of this course has in store. All in all, the forgery project was fun and maybe I'll make another fake Twitter account for another celebrity. Thanks for reading! To my readers, I'll see you again in three weeks!
I have several plans for Rhet 233. I plan to develop my writing in ways and through different mediums that I have never used before. I want to take on the challenge of writing outside the typical essay or paper which I have been doing for the past eight or so years of my life. I plan to work on my skills in using a computer like understanding basic coding or analyzing the makeup of something like clickbait in the classroom. I plan to develop writing skills that can work across platforms and media and give me the opportunity where I can possibly bring these skills up to employers in the future when searching for a job. I hope that because of this class I can be more involved in various platforms through the internet that give me a better opportunity to succeed at the University and succeed in places like work and connect with more people who can further teach me once I finish this class. In general, I want my plans for this course to extend past my time enrolled in the class and beyond the classroom, and extend to how I spend my own time and in what I accomplish when I am alone without nothing to necessarily do.
