English Pronunciation for Academic Purposes

SC Audio Recordings

Pronunciation models, illustrating some of the materials in the Speechcraft (SC) textbook and workbook, are available below. The recordings are copyrighted by The University of Michigan, 1999. Turn to the page in the textbook or workbook, listed below, to follow along with the recording as the recordists read the examples.

Recordings are presented in a compressed format from Real Networks. The recordings must be played on a Real Networks audio player (e.g. Real Player, RealOne Player) and cannot be downloaded. For a free version of the audio player click here. (Do not select 'Free 14 day trial' download but the 'Download Free Realplayer' icon.)

REMEMBER: If you need more time to respond than the recording gives you, use the pause on your audio player.  If you want to repeat some of the recording, you can either drag the slide handle back (to the left) or click to the left of the slide handle to move back.
