- revisions are changes the writer makes to the original journey (in the context of a particular instance of writing).
Because revisions are changes (the writer makes) to a journey,
- revising focuses on modifying the path of meaning making (the writer wants the target audience follow), not on clearing small debris from that path.
Note: It is copy editing (not revising) which focuses on clearing the small debris from the path (the writer wants the target audience to follow).
