The Appalachian Trail

The following embedded map shows the Appalachian Trail. Developed with ESRI Configurable Apps in the Web Map Viewer in the ArcGIS Online platform, this app shows the center line of the Appalachian Trail, the major urban areas, the states, the major park forests and the shelters and parking facilities along the trail. The data layers have been properly and creatively symbolized and the pop-ups have been customized.

This map includes a search module that allows users to search and or filter based on the name of any state, shelter or parking. In addition the map allows users to change the base map and edit some of the attributes of the "shelter" and "parking" layers. This enables users to keep the data update.
