ATTENDANCE POLICY |
Improvement in speaking skills requires your presence in class for instruction and in conferences with the instructor for tutoring and evaluation. Therefore, you are expected to attend promptly each class meeting and each appointment with the instructor and tutor. Arriving to class after the starting bell or to an appointment after the scheduled time constitutes a late attendance. Two late attendances are counted as one unexcused absence. Six of the following, in any combination, will result in an automatic failing grade for the class: Unexcused absence from class, unexcused absence from a scheduled appointment with the teacher or tutor. Consult with the teacher ahead of time when you must be out of town or cannot attend class or an appointment for a valid reason. Use e-mail or the telephone to keep the teacher informed. A medical or academic note for the instructor guarantees an excused absence. You are expected to complete all assignments that you miss during an absence whether the absence is excused or unexcused. If you must miss part of a class, you should come for the portion of the class which you are able to attend.
