Illini Journal
Throughout the history of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, students were consistently active in social and political movement, by showing demonstration. However, the right-wing movement did not show this movement through active demonstration like the woman’s right, the civil-right, the labor, and the re-emerged feminist movement. So how did the rightists show their demonstration? They showed their spirit of demonstration through writing. In the university, this rightist demonstration happened through a journal call the “Illini Journal”. The “Illini Journal” is an “alternative student monthly of new analysis” which published by a registered student organization. Their main purpose was to provide new with different opinion and features which is not given in the daily newspaper nationally and in campus level.
Introduction to the Movement
In today’s modern society, there is this constant movement that is left wing such as unemployment insurance, social security, equal wage, while movement concerning right wing are constantly shunned upon. Environmentalist, scientist and other experts indicates how today’s system of economy is ruining the society. However, I believe that the right-wing movement should not be ignored and be excluded in today society. In University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, ideas from both right and left sprung especially during the cold war. During the cold war, the right worried that policies with socialist attributes would bring the United States under communist rule or at least a lead way for communism to enter U.S.
In UIUC and in most campus, it is very hard to find a right wing demonstration because usually the right wing conservatives are not the one being oppressed.

Personal Reason for Reasearching Right-Wing Movement
As seen in the video, Milton Friedman who won a Nobel prize winner, talks about capitalism and defend capitalism and how the principle of capitalism is even in a socialist country such as the USSR. My main reason for making this website and introduce this newspaper call the “Illini Journal” is to tell that not all the right-wing movement in the past were like fascist, and Ku Klux Klan movement which were extreme and harmful to the society. I wanted to promote that there are rational and well-reasoned right-wing movements that occurred in U.S. and one of them is the Illini Journal. The Illini Journal showed their conservatism through reasons rather than vulgar and extremity
